Top 10 Biggest Casinos in The World By Revenue (in billion U.S. dollars)

The incredibly profitable Las Vegas Sands Company, parent-company of famous Las Vegas casino-resorts, The Venetian and The Palazzo, was the top-ranking casino company in terms of revenue. It generated a all round of 13.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2018, its closest competitor being MGM Resorts who was hot on its tail with a profits of 11.8 billion U.S. dollars in the exact same year.

… does not always stay in Vegas – while almost half of the largest selected casino companies globally were headquartered in Las Vegas, the remaining companies were based in Pennsylvania (U.S.), Hong Kong, Australia and Malaysia, respectively. Even leader, Las Vegas Sands, whose name lends itself to the opposite, has based over half of its casino properties in Asia (specifically Macao and Singapore). Often the choice of casino locations is to do with more relaxed gambling laws and lower tax rates.

Macao has become an increasingly popular casino location in recent years and, for this reason, is also known as the “Las Vegas of Asia”. Along with Hong Kong, it is one of two Special Administrative Regions in China, both allowing the legalization of gambling. Macao’s casinos generated almost 37.6 billion U.S. dollars in gross revenue in 2018. To review, gambling in Las Vegas accounted for a revenue of around 11.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2017.
